The end of an era ...
Hey guys :)
So July is nearly here and this means the end of an era, I began college in September 2013 and in July 2015 I will be completing my 2 year business course and leaving college. The reason I am calling this the end of an era is that my experience at college has been incredible, school wasn't really for me but college is where I feel that I've been able to be myself, meet wonderful students and teachers whilst growing as a person. Leaving secondary school and starting college was one of the most scary but exciting experiences of my life, not only was it scary because of the fact that it was a completly new experience for me but it was scary because of the fact that I would be going to this college not knowing anyone there and not being familiar with my surroundings. Looking back I think that the experience of having to put myself out there to get to know people and to get to know this new environment made me a more confident and happy person, whilst at secondary school I often hid behind my friends but at college it was just me. As the first year went on I meet a lot of amazing students and I was being taught by some of the nicest and best teachers that I had ever had in my life, at college we were all students of different ages and this meant that I was one of the youngest which at times was scary but also gave me room to grow as the people around me where more mature then me. It was at college that I grew as a person, fell in love, got my first job and being confident in who I am.
Looking back I am so grateful that I didn't stay on at my secondary school because I feel that this would of just left me hiding and being scared to grow, stepping out of my comfort zone and being forced to make new friends and being forced to come out of my shell and force myself to get what I want for myself. Looking back I can 100% say that I am a far more happy and confident person now then I ever was in secondary school and I know that college has played a huge part in this development of myself. For anyone reading this is that is considering going to college I highly recommend you do because you will get to experience alot of amazing things whilst getting a qualification and you will grow as a person.
